This course includes six chapter. In chapter (11)-Compressibility of soil, it is the procedure for estimating elastic settlement of foundations has been revised with the inclusions of theories by Steinbrenner (1934) and Fox (1948). In chapter (12)-Shear strength of Soil, it can be study the the nature of shearing resistance in order to analyze soil stability problems. In chapter (13)-Lateral earth pressure, it is the study of lateral forces are caused by lateral earth pressure with the various earth pressure theories. Chapter -15 (Slope stability) includes the modes of slope failure and the stability analysis of finite and infinite slopes. Chapter-16 (Bearing capacity for shallow foundation) is presented theories for estimating the ultimate and allowable bearing capacities of shallow foundation. Chapter-18 (Subsoil Exploration) reviewed the purposes and planning of subsoil exploration with the sample soil report.
